Although I studied human-computer interaction, the meat of a wicked problem is often human-human interaction. I'm currently focused on helping retail buyers connect and collaborate with their wholesale suppliers online and in person. As an instructional designer turned UX designer, I believe that UX design and education are two ways to solve the same problem—how to close the gap between what someone can do today and what they need to do tomorrow. Good UX design simplifies the systems people use to achieve their goals. Good education builds up that person’s capability. I close the gap from both directions.
I completed my Master's in human-computer interaction after working as an instructional designer.
In my free time, I like to try different ways making: photography and glitch art, arduino wearables and 3d printing. My most recent hobby project—converting a van into a minimalist mobile space with my partner. I'm currently designing and building out the electrical systems and am excited to turn it into an IoT platform.
I believe that travel and new (uncomfortable) experiences are the core of building empathy. I use rockclimbing as an excuse to do this often.
